The Orchestra
The Norfolk County Youth Orchestra is a full symphony orchestra that brings together the most talented musicians living in Norfolk, between the ages of 12 and 21.
There is an annual membership fee to belong to the orchestra which contributes towards tuition and accommodation. There are bursaries enabling all talented young musicians to participate if they so wish.
Benefits of Joining
Study:
Orchestral players learn to take responsibility for their part in a large group, develop their personal musical standard of playing and ensure that the orchestra continually performs to a high standard
Social:
Close friendships are formed which will last for life. There is an orchestral student council, which meets regularly to represent the views of the players and take part in the decision-making processes
Am I eligible to join?
If you play an orchestral instrument, are Grade 6 standard or above, in full time education and live in Norfolk you are eligible to join.
